# Field Value to Run-Time Parameter

We cannot assign field value to a run time parameter but vice-versa can be done with the help of “Get Variable/Generate rows”.

Hi! Harshita

You can see in the screenshot below, I have defined a parameter P-Stock\_Symbol.

The Get Variable step is the second step in the workflow. You can define a fieldname and then specify a variable to assign a value to the field. You can press Ctrl+Space to display the list of variables and select from the list. Else you can type the variable in the format ${variable name}
