Yes, when adding a new user in AutomationEdge, the **User Type** dropdown field allows you to select **Native Users** or **LDAP Users** (as well as **SSO Users** if Single Sign-On is configured).

Here is how **Native Users** and **LDAP Users** differ:

* * *

**1. Native Users**

- **Default Option:** Native Users is the default user type in AutomationEdge.
- **Storage & Authentication:** User details and credentials are stored directly within the AutomationEdge database (AE-DB), and authentication is performed locally by AutomationEdge.
- **Fields Required:** When creating a Native user, you must manually specify details such as the First Name, Last Name, Email ID, Username, Password, and assigned Role.

* * *

**2. LDAP Users**

- **Prerequisite:** The **LDAP Users** option appears and can be selected only after an administrator has successfully set up the LDAP connection under **Settings → LDAP**.
- **Storage & Authentication:** User details are maintained on your organization’s external LDAP server, and user authentication is handled by LDAP rather than AutomationEdge.
- **Fields Required:** When adding an LDAP user in AutomationEdge, you only need to enter the **Username** and assign a **Role** ; the remaining user profile details are fetched automatically from LDAP during their first sign-in
