What are the different user states in AutomationEdge and what do they represent?
In AutomationEdge (AE UI), user accounts transition through seven distinct states during their lifecycle:
-
Unverified: A newly created user account that has not yet logged in for the first time. Upon the user’s initial login attempt, a dormancy check runs—if passed, the state becomes Active; if failed, it moves to Disabled.
-
Active: The normal operating state. The user can log in and execute operations based on their assigned roles and permissions.
-
Locked: Triggered automatically when a user exceeds the configured maximum number of consecutive failed login attempts.
-
Dormant: Applied automatically when a user account has no sign-in activity for longer than the tenant’s configured Dormancy Period. A system or tenant administrator must manually intervene to enable or disable the account.
-
Disabled: Set manually by an administrator from an Active, Enabled, or Locked state. Unlike Locked accounts, disabling a user account automatically disables all scheduled tasks associated with that user.
-
Enabled: The intermediate state after an administrator unlocks or re-activates a Locked, Dormant, or Disabled user account. When the user logs in and updates their password, the account automatically transitions to Active.
-
Deleted: Created internally when an administrator deletes a user account.
