Hello team,
If we want to create a connection between Tomcat and ActiveMQ for an on-premise server where both are on different systems. How can we make them connect to each other?
Or it is not possible?
Yes, it is possible and supported to have Tomcat and ActiveMQ running on different machines in an on-premise AutomationEdge setup.
The key requirement is that the Tomcat/AE Server machine must be able to connect to the ActiveMQ broker over the network.
In ae.properties on the AE Server/Tomcat machine, configure activemq.broker.url with the hostname/IP of the ActiveMQ machine instead of localhost.
For example:
activemq.broker.url=tcp://:61616
mq.username=
mq.password=
Here, activemq.broker.url should point to the ActiveMQ broker running on the remote machine.
Also ensure that:
ActiveMQ is running and listening on the configured port.
The ActiveMQ port is accessible from the Tomcat/AE Server machine through the network/firewall.
The configured ActiveMQ credentials are correct.
Restart the required services after making the configuration changes.
Therefore, Tomcat and ActiveMQ do not need to be installed on the same system.
