Desktop license issue?


This is one of the case, where Desktop license issue occurs after files gets corrupted on applying Antivirus software

Below are the steps needs to follow if this issue encounters:

AE version: Below 5.3.0
PS version: Below 5.3.0

Changes required on Agent side:

  • Get below jars/ latest jars:

    1. desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-M4.jar

    2. desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-RUNNER-M5.jar

  • Backup_proxy_config.exe file from your local
    process studio\psplugins \DesktopPlugins\desktop-engine\tools” folder or from
    ae-agent\ psplugins\DesktopPlugins\desktop-engine\tools

  • Take backup of the desktop-engine folder and .desk file from all the agents
    ae-agent/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder.

  • Stop the agents and delete all the files and folder from “ae-agent/psplugins/DesktopPlugins”.

  • Login to the Automationedge server with sysadmin credentials.

  • Go to the Plugins tab and search for “DesktopPlugins”

  • Click the Edit button of the DesktopPlugins (Edit option present in the right-hand side)

  • Select the Rollback option and select “desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-RUNNER-M5.jar” and click on the Update button.

  • After successful updating of the plugins, start the agent.

  • Goto the ae-agent/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder and check, desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-RUNNER-M5.jar should be present there.

  • Now paste the desktop-engine folder and .desk file from the agent backup folder into the ae-agent/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder.

  • Goto the “agent\psplugins\DesktopPlugins\desktop-engine\tools” and paste/replace “backup_proxy_config.exe” into the same location.

  • Test the desktop workflow on the agent.

Changes required on Process-studio side:

  • Take a backup of desktop-engine, desktop-spy folders and .desk file from all the issues affected process-studios, Process-studio/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder.

  • Delete the folder and files from Process-studio/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder.

  • Start the process-studio and sync the plugins

  • Goto the process-studio/psplugins/DesktopPlugins folder and check, desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-RUNNER-M5.jar should be present there.

  • If the file is present, delete desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-RUNNER-M5.jar and paste the desktop-gui-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-M4.jar in the same folder.

  • Paste the desktop-engine, desktop-spy folders and .desk file from the backup directory.

  • Start the desktop-spy from the process-studio and check.

  • Goto the “process-studio\psplugins\DesktopPlugins\desktop-engine\tools” and paste/replace “backup_proxy_config.exe” into the same location.

  • Run a desktop workflow on the process-studio and check.
